Cashier (4 days a week, Temporary Contract)

FUNCTION OBJECTIVE

Build and maintain a long-term relationship with new and existing customers in a multichannel retail environment to:

• Evaluate and satisfy customer needs and expectations, encouraging increasingly frequent visits.
• Understand customer motivations and expectations, and actively play a role in converting them into commercial opportunities.
• Ensure a positive shopping experience that generates confidence in the IKEA brand before, during, and after their visit.

This must be achieved by working in collaboration with all business functions to contribute to commercial growth.

JOB OBJECTIVE

I ensure:

• Streamlining the payment process for our customers and improving IKEA store profitability.
• Managing payments reliably, efficiently, accurately, and pleasantly.
• Creating a positive experience for our customers, so they want to come back and buy from us periodically.
• Using IKEA tools and my colleagues' experience to achieve these objectives.

TASKS

Clients

• My top priority is ensuring the cash register is equipped correctly at all times throughout the day and being prepared to help customers when they need it.
• I have the knowledge, confidence, and desire to facilitate customer payment.
• I know my authorization levels for resolving payment issues when they arise and recognize when I need to escalate a problem to someone with higher authority. I transmit relevant information to assist the customer efficiently and effectively.
• I offer solutions to frequent questions. This contributes to improving future shopping experiences for all.
• I use the cash register to record products and payments accurately, following established routines.
• I ensure our store is a safe environment at all times for visitors and colleagues.

Commercial / Business

I optimize my relationship with customers by paying for products to improve their satisfaction and incentivize them to return and buy from us periodically. This I achieve:

• By understanding the importance of accurate inventory and how my actions impact it.
• By knowing global solutions, tools, and work methods, as well as the IKEA concept, and ensuring I use the right manuals and educational tools to maximize customer shopping experiences.
• By contributing to the cash register plan and assuming my responsibility in its execution.
• By receiving customer feedback and transmitting it to my supervisor.
• By knowing business contingency plans in case of system failure to minimize the impact on customer shopping experiences.
