CAD Designer - Clothing Design

RPO's client is actively seeking an experienced CAD Designer – Pattern Maker (Clothing Design) to join their team in Pretoria East. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in CAD design for garments, working closely with product developers to deliver accurate, production-ready files.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This is a full-time, onsite position.

• Research and identify key seasonal trends to guide design direction.
• Create garment CAD designs and detailed tech packs to support the product development process.
• Translate CAD designs into accurate patterns and grading.
• Develop mood boards and color palettes to define design aesthetics.
• Assist in trim development and ensure high-quality finishes.
• Design graphics and prints that align with the brand’s identity and target audience.
• Support range building and competitor analysis to maintain a competitive edge.
• Collaborate with the team on branded swing tickets, trims, and other design elements.
• Maintain and organize overseas samples, ensuring proper labeling and presentation.
• Stay updated on industry trends and apply new design innovations.

• 5+ years of proven experience as a CAD Designer within the clothing industry.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator (essential).
• Strong artistic skills with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
• Experience in CAD design for garments and trims.
• Ability to translate design briefs into production-ready files accurately.
• Strong communication skills to clearly articulate design concepts.
• Ability to work independently while managing tight deadlines.
• A passion for fashion, trends, and design innovation.
