Cable Jointer (Standover)

We’re currently looking for a safety-conscious and technically skilled Cabling Jointer – Stand over to join our team and support critical civil and utility projects. This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in cable jointing who is confident overseeing third-party works around our underground assets to ensure safety, compliance, and quality. Responsibilities: -Oversee the installation of new cables and joints on existing infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Northpower’s standards and regulations. -Coordinate and manage third-party contractors and their personnel to ensure safe and efficient execution of work. -Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed. -Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and other team members. -Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff and contractors. -Maintain accurate records of work completed, including documentation of defects or non-compliances. -Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and procedures. Requirements: -5+ years’ experience in cable jointing with a strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations. -Proven track record of successfully overseeing third-party works and ensuring compliance with quality standards. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision. -Familiarity with Northpower’s policies, procedures, and systems is an advantage.
