Buyer - Packaging Industry

Hire Resolve's client is looking for a skilled Buyer to join our team in the Flexible Packaging Industry in the Western Cape region. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement and purchasing within the packaging industry, specifically dealing with flexible packaging materials. Responsibilities: Assist the Financial Manager in sourcing packaging from pre-approved manufacturing sites globally Evaluate and compare proposals and select the best option Ensure that the best possible value is obtained in terms of price, quality, and delivery terms. Maintain and update records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings. Manage and maintain supplier relationships. Collaborate with the production, sales, and marketing teams to determine packaging needs. Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials. Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in packaging materials. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement within the packaging industry, with a focus on flexible packaging materials. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
