Direct Materials Buyer

• Defines and implements the selection strategy for assigned suppliers, based on technological characteristics, material, or geographical location
• Plans and coordinates Purchasing activities for the entire product life cycle (from quotation to aftermarket)
• Analyzes market trends, identifies potential new suppliers / new processes, and leads their qualification by coordinating cross-functional teams
• Negotiates with suppliers using a Total Cost of Ownership approach, managing commercial aspects while also leading technical, qualitative, and logistical meetings to support relevant colleagues
• Mitigates supply chain risks; evaluates supplier performance and their development
• Ensures transparent management of supplier assets (equipment, molds, software...)
• Is responsible for Budget planning and Cost Controlling objectives for assigned suppliers (pricing, material cost reductions, piece price variances, claim charges, etc.)
• Leads supplier Change Management processes, where applicable and beneficial.

• The profile we are looking for:
• Degree in Engineering or Economics, or a secondary technical-economic education with adequate on-the-job training in international environments;
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot level), PowerPoint, and a strong aptitude for data management and analysis; knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) is a preferential factor
• Negotiation skills, stringent time management, problem-solving abilities; aptitude for working in cross-functional and multinational teams
• Professional command of the English language, both written and spoken
• Previous experience in the Automotive sector and knowledge of a second foreign language are a plus
• Willingness to travel (moderate)
