Hire Resolve's client is seeking a skilled and experienced Buyer to join their team in the food industry in the Western Cape. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality food products while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to their company's purchasing policies. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the food industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers. Responsibilities: • Sourcing and procurement of high-quality food products • Ensuring cost-effectiveness in purchasing decisions • Adherence to company's purchasing policies and procedures • Building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers • Negotiating prices and terms with suppliers • Managing inventory levels and minimizing waste • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements • Providing exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and external partners • Maintaining accurate records and reports of purchasing activities • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements • Developing and implementing effective procurement strategies • Ensuring compliance with company's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the food industry • Strong understanding of the food industry, including market trends, regulations, and best practices • Excellent negotiation and communication skills • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Certification in procurement or supply chain management is an advantage.
