Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Develop and implement robust business development strategies tailored to freight forwarding, warehousing, and logistics services in the NZ market.
  • Identify new opportunities across target industries, including food importers, manufacturers, project cargo, and other serves.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and sustain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Showcase the integrated services—from freight to warehousing—with a focus on personal service, cost-efficiency, and advanced tracking technology.
Sales & Deal Acquisition
  • Lead end-to-end sales processes: prospecting, negotiation, and deal closure.
  • Support value-added client solutions, such as optimized warehousing, custom inventory systems, or project cargo handling.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to position our client ahead of the curve.
Collaboration & Reporting
  • Work alongside internal functions (operations, CRM, warehousing systems) to align on execution readiness.
  • Report regularly to leadership on performance, market insights, and opportunity pipelines.
Brand Advocacy & Visibility
  • Represent our client at relevant industry events and initiatives, emphasizing its commitment to innovation, personalized service, and environmental stewardship.

About You
  • Industry Experience
  • Proven success in business development or sales within international freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation sectors.
Local Market Insight
  • Established network within New Zealand's logistics and freight industry; familiarity with local business culture.
Sales & Negotiation Skills
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to drive outcomes independently.
Strategic & Commercial Acumen
  • Business-savvy mindset with financial literacy and the ability to seize market-driving opportunities.
Tech-Savvy & Adaptable
  • Comfortable leveraging digital tools and performance metrics to inform strategy and client solutions.
Values-Driven
  • A collaborative team player who aligns with our client's customer-centric and sustainability-focused ethos.
