Business Analyst Payments - Financial Services - Brest

Within the Financial Services Vertical, we support major banking players, payment institutions, fintechs, and market operators in their transformation projects related to payments, card schemes, regulations, and digital innovation. We have recognized expertise in the payments sector and rely on specialized business communities.

As part of strengthening our activities in Brest, we are recruiting Card Scheme & Payments Business Analysts.

Your mission

You will work with major banking groups and payment players on strategic projects for payment system transformation, optimization of collection processes, and evolution of card scheme platforms.

Acting as a true interface between business units and IT teams, you will contribute to the definition, design, and implementation of innovative solutions that address our clients' regulatory and business challenges.

Your responsibilities

Business needs analysis

• Gather and challenge the needs of the Payments, Card Schemes, Payment Methods, and Digital departments.
• Facilitate functional workshops with stakeholders.
• Participate in feasibility studies and scoping phases.

Functional design

• Write functional specifications and user stories.
• Formalize user journeys and payment flows.
• Define business rules and acceptance criteria.

Project team support

• Ensure coordination between business and technical teams.
• Contribute to impact management and change management.

Testing and validation

• Develop test plans.
• Conduct or coordinate functional testing campaigns.
• Support business units during validation phases.

You may be involved in several of these business expertise areas:

• Bank card payments
• Acquisition and issuing, authorization, and clearing
• CB, Visa, and Mastercard flows
• SEPA Payments (SCT, SDD)
• Instant Payment
• Wallets and mobile payments
• Open Banking and PSD2
• E-commerce and digital payments
• Merchant acceptance
• Innovative payment solutions

You have a minimum of 4 years of permanent employment experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Consultant, ideally within a service company or consultancy firm, in the banking sector. You hold a higher education degree (Bac+5) from an engineering school or university.

Business skills

• Good command of the payments and card scheme ecosystem.
• Understanding of acceptance and issuing processes.
• Knowledge of card and/or SEPA flows.
• Good understanding of payment regulatory challenges.

Technical skills appreciated

• SQL
• Jira / Confluence
• UML / BPMN
• APIs and IT architectures
• Agile / SAFe methodologies

Soft skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and synthesis abilities.
• Consulting mindset.
• Autonomy and sense of responsibility.
• Proficiency in facilitating workshops and communicating with business and IT stakeholders.
