Job Summary:
The Business Analyst and Technical Lead will play a crucial role in the implementation of a new Student Information System (SIS) across multiple colleges. This position involves gathering and analyzing business requirements, leading testing efforts, facilitating data migration, and providing technical support to ensure a successful transition to the new system. The role requires strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders. Location:Canada, Remote Responsibilities:
- Represent the client in project team, schedule, working committee, vendor workshops, and steering committee meetings.
- Elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage business needs and requirements.
- Capture the 'as-is' and 'to-be' states, documenting business processes, workflows, and rules.
- Work with vendors and colleges on the transition to operations.
- Create and execute test plans, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Liaison and consult with vendor Power BI.
- Build out Power BI reports based on ad-hoc requirements.
- Prove out and test out of the box Power BI reports and enhance as required.
- Build skill sets within each college to support and maintain BI reports post go-live.
- Work with vendor to migrate data from the current system.
- Define technical requirements for modifications and work-arounds.
- Define and pass on enhancement requests to the vendor.
- Facilitate the definition of base reports and necessary content.
- Facilitate collective naming conventions for data items.
- Ensure that an evolving set of collective business rules are defined and respected.
- Negotiate and collect data values requiring collective input.
- Oversee high-level data load strategy.
- Facilitate establishment of course master for each college.
- Configure system values and add users for each college.
- Clarify testing vs production environment protocols.
- Create common user documentation, including potential training documentation. Required Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and process documentation.
- Experience in test planning and execution.
- Experience with data migration and analysis.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Power BI. Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS).
