Business Advisory Director

Job description

My client is a leading public practice accounting firm specialising in providing tailored financial services to commercial - but primarily agricultural sectors - across New Zealand.

They are seeking a Director - someone who can take over the firm, and continue to grow and develop its staff and its clients! This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished leader to drive growth and innovation within a firm while maintaining the high standards of excellence the clients expect.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and client-focused service.
  • Client Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial advice and services tailored to their unique needs.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the rural sector, expanding the firm’s client base and service offerings.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee the financial management of the firm, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards while managing and mitigating risks.
  • Mentorship: Develop and mentor a team of professionals, fostering talent and supporting career progression within the firm.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven Experience: Extensive experience in public practice accounting, with a strong focus on the agricultural sectors.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success in a leadership role, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
  • Client Focus: A deep understanding of the unique financial needs of rural businesses, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional client service.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and make decisions that drive business growth and client satisfaction.
  • Professional Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
