Take the next step in your career with a nationally recognised mid-tier firm that values expertise, collaboration, and growth. We're looking for an Accountant to join the Melbourne-based team, providing end-to-end business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients.

As a member of the division, you'll be involved in complex financial information, strategic advisory work, and ensuring compliance for clients. You'll play a vital role in shaping outcomes for clients while developing your skills within one of Australia's top accounting and advisory firms.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Apply knowledge of client operations, firm practices, industry trends, and emerging issues.
• Prepare clear and well-structured work papers to document work performed.
• Review financial statements and management accounts, ensuring accuracy by eliminating errors in addition, referencing, and formatting.
• Assist in identifying potential accounting issues.
• Apply fundamental tax compliance processes.
• Prepare income tax returns for clients
• Complete all necessary regulatory forms accurately.

Experience

• Business or Commerce degree with an Accounting Major (or similar)
• 1-2 years working in a similar position
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
