Your Mission

You are the voice of our German customers and contribute directly to their success with Pennylane. You help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) simplify their financial processes and unlock the full potential of our financial management platform. At the same time, you will shape the growth of Pennylane in Germany with us.

Your Tasks

• Onboarding with Impact: You guide new SME customers and their tax firms through the entire onboarding process. You ensure a smooth start and that companies quickly benefit from the possibilities of our platform.

• Build and Develop Customer Relationships: You are the first point of contact for our existing SME customers. You build trusting relationships, identify opportunities for additional features and expanded usage, and help your customers achieve their entrepreneurial and financial goals with Pennylane.

• Proactively Advise: In regular conversations, you assess how successfully your customers are working with Pennylane and where they need support. You increase their satisfaction, optimize platform usage, and identify early signs of potential churn.

• Shape the German Market Together: You work closely with our German sales team and the local leadership team. Together, you will further develop processes, consolidate product feedback, and drive Pennylane's growth in Germany.

• Build and Share Expertise: You will develop into a sought-after point of contact for our platform and the German financial and accounting landscape. You will directly share your knowledge and best practices with our SME customers.
  

What you bring

• Relevant Experience: You have 8+ years of professional experience in accounting, financial management, corporate finance, or a comparable in-house role. Ideally, you have personally worked with financial processes, invoicing, or accounting workflows. Experience in B2B SaaS, a fintech, or an accounting firm is a plus.

• Professional Background: You have a degree with a focus on finance, accounting, or business administration. Alternatively, you have completed training as a tax assistant, further training as a tax expert, or a comparable qualification in accounting.

• Understanding of the German Market: You know the requirements of SMEs for their financial management and understand the key processes related to accounting, invoicing, and daily financial operations in Germany.

• Communication Skills and Empathy: You listen attentively, put yourself in your customers' shoes, and explain complex financial or technical topics simply and understandably.

• Desire to Get Hands-On: You want to be part of a team that is still at the beginning in Germany and is growing. You take initiative, think in terms of solutions, and enjoy shaping processes from the ground up.

• Willingness to Travel: You are looking forward to meeting our team at the Paris Headquarter for onboarding and are willing to occasionally visit customers in Germany – about once a month.

• Language Skills: You speak German at a native or fluent level (C2) and fluent English for collaboration with our international teams.
