About the Role

PROTUCK TUCKPOINTING RESTORATIONS PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and reliable Bricklayer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring a variety of brick and stone structures with precision and attention to detail.

This role involves laying bricks, pre-cut stone, and various masonry blocks using mortar to build and repair walls, partitions, arches, and related structures..

Key Responsibilities

• Study plans and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
• Erect and dismantle restricted-height scaffolding.
• Seal foundations with damp-resistant materials.
• Spread mortar using trowels to form base layers and bind masonry blocks.
• Lay bricks in rows, patterns, arches, and decorative designs.
• Ensure accurate mortar placement and remove excess mortar.
• Check vertical and horizontal alignment of structures.
• Cut, shape, and polish bricks and stone using hand tools and machines.
• Shape bricks to fit irregular spaces.
• Repair and maintain brickwork, cement blocks, and similar structures.
• Design and cut monumental masonry and lettering.
• Construct walls using stone slabs and large masonry blocks.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification (AQF Certificate III or IV in Bricklaying/Blocklaying).
• Proven experience in bricklaying and masonry work.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and workmanship.
• Ability to read and interpret plans.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor environments.
• Commitment to safety standards.
