This is you

As a Building Inspector at SOCOTEC, you will provide our clients with a multi-year maintenance plan.

You will visit clients to take inventory of the building's structural elements, both inside and outside. You will try to gather as much information as possible by reviewing blueprints, for example. You will record the structural elements and finishes of, among others, roofs, facades, walls, floors, and ceilings. You will document as much as possible by taking photos and noting measurements.

You will also inspect these elements in such a way that you can determine the costs for repair work and the maintenance status of the relevant elements. The maintenance status is determined based on the condition method described in NEN 2767.

On site or at home, you will process the inventory and inspection data in a software package so that a comprehensive multi-year maintenance plan emerges.

This is your day

You start the day by performing a building survey for one of our clients we serve. You agree with your colleague inspectors on site and after a brief conversation with the present contact person and a tour of the building, you begin with the building survey. When you have inventoried and inspected the building and recorded the data, you will work at home or in the office to further process the data in software to come up with a multi-year maintenance plan.
