THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for this vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:-
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance or equivalent
- Minimum 2–3 years’ bookkeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
- Proficiency in accounting software, with excellent Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to deliver under deadlines
- Experience preparing VAT returns and other compliance submissions
- Experience with SAP or similar systems
- Exposure to logistics, maritime, or related industries
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-
- Record day-to-day financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and payments
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure correct coding
- Process accounts payable and receivable with timely payments and collections
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and other balance sheet accounts
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Monitor cash flow and maintain petty cash records
- Assist in preparing VAT and other statutory returns
- Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Maintain orderly and secure filing of financial documents and records
- Provide administrative support as required
