Bioprocess Engineer (m/f/d)

### Responsibilities Technical Feasibility & Engineering Evaluations: Perform engineering assessments for state-of-the-art technologies (e.g., continuous processing, flow bioconjugation, automated harvesting, tangential flow filtration, dynamic cross-flow) Process Sizing & Mass Balancing: Generate detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs), mass/energy balances, and volumetric equipment sizing calculations for lab-, pilot-, and full-scale manufacturing assets Scale-Up / Scale-Out & Economy of Scale Analysis: Develop robust scale-up/scale-out model, assess capacity bottlenecks, and perform cost modeling/economy of scale evaluations to validate process viability and implementability with the right assumptions Support to Operational Investigation Units (OIU) & SMEs: Serve as a core technical consultant for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and OIUs to address complex process deviations, technology transfers, and operational root-cause investigations Digital Twin & Automation Concepts: Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to deploy digital twins, control strategies, and automation concepts for bioprocess lines. Profile & Qualifications M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Technical Physics/Biotechnology Hands-on experience in bioprocess design, process modeling, or technical operations support within the biotech or pharmaceutical sector Proficient in mass balancing, process simulation software (e.g., SuperPro Designer, BioSolve, DataHow, or MATLAB), and CAD concepts Sound practical background in upstream (USP) and downstream (DSP) technologies (fermenters, centrifuges/sedicanters, chromatography platforms, TFF/diafiltration) High analytical problem-solving capacity with a strong aptitude for cross-functional technical troubleshooting with site operations and quality units Fluent German and English skills ### Benefits Interesting and responsible project with a renowned client Project planned for an extended duration Our many years of recruitment experience and our expert knowledge of the engineering job market make us a strong partner for engineers and technicians.
