Accountant (m/w/d)

We are looking for an experienced accountant (m/w/d) at our location in Bremen, Germany.

Our client is a well-established company with international presence and strong focus on quality and continuous development. To strengthen the finance team, we are seeking a qualified individual who can bring their expertise in accounting and actively contribute to optimizing financial processes.

Tasks

• Sole responsibility for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB
• Participation in the preparation of the consolidated annual financial statement including consolidation of subsidiary companies
• Ensuring high-quality financial statements and timely reporting and accounting processes
• Responsibility for selected areas of ongoing financial accounting
• Conducting account, intercompany, and settlement reconciliations; contact person for auditors, tax consultants, business auditors, and internal departments
• Preliminary preparation and accompaniment of annual financial statement and business audits
• Support for management in accounting, financial, and process-related questions
• Participation in tax-related topics and statistical reports
• Analysis, optimization, and digitalization of accounting and finance processes
• Active shaping of efficient workflows, automations, and modern reporting structures
• Participation in cross-sectional projects and special themes

Qualification

• SUCCESSFUL completion of a business administration degree with focus on accounting, finance or controlling or an IHK-certified accountant (IHK)
• Multiple years of professional experience in the financial and accounting department of a medium-sized company or group
• Fundamental knowledge of accounting and preparing annual financial statements according to HGB
• Experience in consolidated accounting, advantageous
• Safe appearance when dealing with auditors and tax consultants
• Good ERP knowledge, preferably in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Very good Excel skills and a strong affinity for numbers and processes; interest in digitalization, automation, and modern finance structures
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented work style
• Entrepreneurial thinking, communication strength, and sense of responsibility
• Good English skills for cooperation with international companies
