Job description
We are currently assisting a medium-sized company with multiple locations in filling a central key position in financial accounting.
As a Senior Accountant / Head of Accounting (m/f/d), you will take full responsibility for the accounting department. You will professionalize existing processes, develop reliable financial processes, and create clear interfaces between administration, management, and the individual locations.
You will not only manage existing structures. You will be given the freedom to actively shape systems, responsibilities, and processes. In the long term, there is also the prospect of building your own accounting team and leading it technically and disciplinarily.
Tasks
- Holistically responsible for accounting: You will manage the entire financial accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliations, payment transactions, VAT pre-declarations, and the maintenance of relevant master and financial data.
- Independently prepare financial statements: You will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB and further develop internal closing competence with the goal of significantly reducing dependence on external tax advisors.
- Reliably process payroll: You will handle payroll and salary accounting independently with DATEV and communicate confidently with tax authorities, social security institutions, and the external tax advisor.
- Further develop processes and systems: You will professionalize existing workflows, define clear responsibilities, and significantly contribute to the future use of DATEV and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Actively manage finances: You will further develop controlling, reporting, and liquidity planning, create meaningful analyses, and provide management with reliable decision-making basis.
- Build interfaces and team: You will establish reliable processes between management, administration, and branch managers, relieve management in day-to-day operations, and build your own accounting team in the long term.
Profile
- Professional Qualification: You have completed a commercial apprenticeship, for example as a tax assistant (m/f/d), tax specialist (m/f/d), financial accountant (m/f/d), or accountant (m/f/d). Ideally, you have further training as a certified accountant (IHK) or a comparable qualification.
- Sound professional experience: You have several years of experience in financial and accounting, independently prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB, and can lead an accounting department both technically and organizationally.
- Payroll and tax law: You have extensive experience in payroll and salary accounting, are familiar with the relevant tax and social security requirements, and communicate confidently with authorities, social security institutions, and tax advisors.
- Controlling and systems: Reporting, controlling, and liquidity planning are part of your professional financial management. You work confidently with DATEV and have experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a comparable ERP system.
- Process and leadership strength: You identify optimization potential, develop reliable commercial structures, and ideally have initial leadership or team management experience for the prospective build-up of your own team.
- Personality and communication: You work entrepreneurially, structured, and independently, connect different internal contacts, and have very good German language skills. Turkish language skills are an advantage, but not a requirement.
We offer
- Scope for development: You will further develop processes, responsibilities, and systems according to your professional ideas and can implement changes immediately.
- Leadership perspective: You will have the opportunity to build your own accounting team in the long term and lead it technically and disciplinarily.
- Flexibility: A weekly working time of under 40 hours, flexitime, and regulated core hours give you more freedom in structuring your workday.
- Pension: A company pension scheme and subsidies for health-promoting measures offer attractive additional benefits beyond the classic salary.
- Mobility: Company car, parking facilities, good public transport connection, as well as support with public transport tickets and job bikes ensure maximum flexibility.
- Work-Life-Balance: Clear regulations for overtime and 30 days of vacation ensure that responsibility and personal balance go hand in hand in the long term.
- Choice of technology: Smartphone, laptop, and tablet are available to you and can also be used privately.
- Intensive onboarding: You will be systematically trained and closely supported from the beginning so that you can quickly get started with processes, systems, and your responsibilities.
- Extras: Corporate benefits, free drinks and fruit, as well as a central location with restaurants, break areas, kitchen, and air-conditioned rooms complete your work environment.
