What will you do?

Flexible hours, helping customers, and learning something new every day.

You choose the hours you work. During those hours, you have the honor of turning a satisfied customer into a mega-satisfied customer. Because our checkout is the last stop before the customer can get started with their impressive project.

Your tasks:

• You scan all items at the checkout in a smooth motion.
• You check if everything is still safely loaded onto the cart. Safety first!
• With your good mood and personal attention, you bring a smile to every customer's face.

You will join a growing family of doers, where there is always something to do. You don't work with targets, but you learn things that are truly useful to you.

What do you bring?

• You are available up to 16 hours per week. You choose how many hours per week you want to work.
• You enjoy learning everything about our store and our assortment.
• You have a quick wit.
• You are a real go-getter, working evenings and/or weekends is no problem for you.
• At HORNBACH, your safety is very important to us. There is a lot of forklift traffic and a saw shop in our stores, so it is important that you are 16 years or older.

What do you get from us?

• Your all-in gross hourly wage as a Part-timer: between € 9.38 and € 20.24 (this already includes your holiday pay and holiday days).
• Working on Sunday? Then we pay 200%.
• A good result for HORNBACH? Then a nice bonus too, every quarter.
• A contract for 8 months for a fixed number of hours per week. After that, we will continue, that's what we're aiming for!
• Travel expenses reimbursement. From 10 kilometers one way, you will receive a reimbursement from us. We will then pay your public transport costs 2nd class, or €0.23 per kilometer if you come by car, with a maximum of 40 kilometers per day.
• Various opportunities to develop yourself, with (vocational) education and training.
• A well-arranged pension. We pay 2/3 of the premium, you pay the rest.
• A freshly prepared meal by our chef, so you can move forward with full strength again on the late-night shopping evening.

How many hours can I work and how flexible are the working hours?

You can work up to 16 hours per week. And during the holidays, you can work extra hours. You determine how many hours you work, so it always fits around your studies or other obligations. Together, we will ensure a suitable schedule. So, nice and flexible!

Do I need to have experience to work at HORNBACH?

No, you don't. Your hands-on mentality and the will to learn a lot are the most important things. You will be trained by knowledgeable colleagues who will teach you new things at a rapid pace. Do you want to put your shoulder to the wheel? Then you are more than welcome.

What does my first workday look like?

After waking up full of energy, you report to our service desk on your first workday. Your onboarding buddy or Market Coordinator Training & Development (MCOO) will know about your first day and will pick you up there. Your buddy or your MCOO will guide you through the HORNBACH way of working and will gladly introduce you to our heroes on the floor. We will also put together a clothing package that suits your role and wishes on your first day. In addition, we have a wide range of (online) training courses that you will start with during the first few weeks. So, plenty to do!
