Job Description

Will you also come to work as a 24/7 Security Guard at the Ministry of Defence? Our Guard and Security Organization (DBBO) is looking for several new colleagues to strengthen the teams. Day and night, on weekends and public holidays, you are ready with only one goal: to guard and secure Defence components as well as possible. With this, you are invaluable to our national combat power. As a security guard, you work at DBBO in a team 24/7 on the guarding and security of Defence complexes within our Kingdom.

Defence offers you an important job with responsibility, a good salary including a supplement for irregular hours and an Individual Choice Budget, of 16.33% of your gross income. You will also receive a clear and stable five-week work schedule.

Job Requirements

You have successfully completed the MBO2 Security Guard training (hard requirement) and have several years of relevant work experience in security. You also possess a manual transmission driver's license B (hard requirement). Only if you meet these criteria, can you be invited for a selection interview. Should you not yet possess an MBO2 Security Guard diploma, but you do have a VMBO Kader diploma and are willing to follow the MBO2 Security Guard training internally, you may also apply.
You are integer, decisive, people- and organization-oriented, and you have a high sense of responsibility. You must be willing to perform armed duty and, if necessary, use force during an intervention. Geographical flexibility/mobility regarding the different locations within the patrol area is desired and a plus.

After a potential selection, you must undergo a medical examination regarding the fitness assessment for Security Guard DBBO, AND a security investigation must take place for the Certificate of Conduct (VGB) at security level B. A positive recommendation must be issued for both before you can be appointed. For proper performance of the Security Guard (24/7) role, and before you can independently work your first full continuous shift armed, you must have successfully completed the internal initial training for Security Guard DBBO (total 7 months). Should you start with us without having the MBO2 Security Guard diploma, you must also successfully complete the internal training to become an MBO2 Security Guard during this period.

At the Ministry of Defence, employees have access to an individual choice budget (IKB) on a monthly basis. This IKB is composed of your holiday pay and year-end bonus. This means it amounts to 16.33% of your gross salary.
You can save the IKB, have it paid out, or spend it. The latter can be, for example, on mobility (bicycle or e-bike), IT resources (laptop, etc.), union contributions, or additional vacation days. The IKB makes a large part of your salary directly usable for what you truly find important.

The Facilities, Logistics and Security Division (DFLB) is a professional organization that provides facility and logistics services to its clients within and outside Defence, where and when needed. We operate in a client-oriented, cost-conscious, reliable, flexible, and transparent manner.

The work is carried out within the DFLB, which falls under the Defence Support Command (DOSCO). The Facilities, Logistics and Security Division consists of a Staff (Cabinet, Facilities Section, Movement and Transport Management Section, the Program Bureau, the Barracks Command DOSCO locations, and dedicated support) and the following companies:
Paresto (caterer), Defence Facilities Company (FBD), Service Point, Defence Traffic and Transport Organization (DVVO), Defence Media Centre (MCD), Financial Administration and Management Office (FABK), Bureau International Military Sport (BIMS), Royal Home for Veterans and Bronbeek Museum (KTOMMB), and Defence Guard and Security Organization.

The organizational unit Defence Guard and Security Organization (DBBO) provides support to the combat power of the Defence organization. To this end, it provides the physical security of the interests of Defence components within the Kingdom of the Netherlands to be protected, day and night.
