Operations Coordinator / Master Craftsman / Lineman Overhead Lines (m/f/d)
Job description
We are 50Hertz – one of the four transmission system operators (TSOs) in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity transmission system operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. As a TSO, we play a central moderating role in achieving the energy transition from a social, technical, and economic perspective. Our goal: by 2032, we want to safely and affordably integrate 100 percent renewable energies into the grid and system.

Tasks
What makes this job interesting for me: 50Hertz is responsible for the power supply of more than 18 million people and makes a significant contribution to the energy transition. I am on-site when it comes to overhead lines, cables, and associated system components. Whether it's inspections, defect rectification, or quality control during the acceptance of completed work: I either get involved myself or coordinate our contractual partners.
For the overhead lines around our site in Hamburg, I ensure the safe and compliant operation of the high-voltage grid. My area of responsibility extends from Brunsbüttel in the west to Schwerin in the east. Here, I coordinate and monitor all work on our 380-kV lines and ensure that regulations for occupational safety, health, and environmental protection are adhered to. After the scheduled shutdown of the lines, I release the work site for the execution of the work.
My tasks:
- Ensuring the reliable operation of our overhead lines through inspections, maintenance measures, and quality assurance in collaboration with internal and external partners,
- Coordinating, briefing, and managing service providers, including instruction and issuance of necessary work permits,
- Monitoring the proper, timely, and qualitative execution of construction, assembly, and maintenance work, as well as inspecting and documenting the services rendered,
- Ensuring compliance with all requirements for health, occupational safety, and environmental protection on construction sites and in our facilities,
- Coordinating with landowners, authorities, service providers, and internal departments for the smooth execution of work,
- Analyzing faults, initiating measures for defect rectification, and optimizing existing processes,
- Participating in the technical evaluation and further development of selected components of our overhead line systems,
- Participating in the on-call service after familiarization.
Profile
- Successfully completed technical vocational training, preferably in the field of electrical engineering, energy technology, or operational technology,
- Several years of professional experience in a technical or craft trade,
- Ability and willingness to work at heights (G41),
- Proficient in MS Office,
- Very good German language skills (C1),
- Driver's license class B.
Not a must, but an advantage:
- An additionally acquired technician or master craftsman qualification – or the willingness to obtain one,
- Knowledge in the operation, maintenance, or assembly of overhead lines,
- Initial knowledge of using SAP.
