Introduction

Do you want to actively shape and develop fundraising for Bündnis90/Die Grünen at the federal level, take on strategic responsibility, and break new ground together with a dedicated team? As Head of Department Fundraising, you will take on the professional and personnel leadership of a versatile team and be responsible for the strategic further development of our fundraising in the areas of individual donations, corporate donations, and corporate dialogue. You will combine political acumen, extensive expertise in mailing and telephone campaigns with strategic thinking, manage central fundraising projects, and work closely with management, other department heads, and state and district associations.


Your tasks include in particular:

  • Leadership of the Fundraising and Corporate Dialogue department with a team of at times over 20 employees (including indirectly managed employees and external service providers)
  • Strategic development, management, and quality assurance of fundraising at the federal level
  • Overall responsibility for planning, management, and controlling of fundraising projects, including budget and release authority
  • Political contextualization, prioritization, and management of all fundraising topics
  • Responsibility for online donations, corporate donations, sponsoring, telephone fundraising, as well as election campaign and campaign fundraising
  • Idea development for merchandising products and coordination with the responsible department
  • Management of external agencies and service providers
  • Central interface function in the federal headquarters and between state and district associations
  • Consulting and coaching of state associations in the area of fundraising, as well as development of nationwide standards and guidelines

What you bring with you:

Professional qualifications:

  • Completed university degree, ideally in political science, communications, social sciences, or economics, or similar qualifications
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in fundraising, sponsoring, campaign management in a political environment
  • Many years of experience and demonstrable success in the conception and implementation of donation strategies and campaigns in a political or civil society context
  • In-depth knowledge in the area of corporate communications
  • Understanding of the legal framework for political party financing (e.g., Party Law, accountability reporting obligations)
  • Very good written communication skills and experience in writing fundraising texts (e.g., donation letters, concept papers)
  • Proficient use of databases, CRM systems, and statistical tools for donation management and analysis
  • Organizational talent and experience in planning and executing events and dialogue formats
  • Experience and expertise in personnel management and development
  • Fluent German and English language skills, further foreign language skills are an advantage

  • High level of political interest and identification with the values of BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN
  • Strong communication and networking skills in dealing with various stakeholders
  • Strategic and conceptual strength
  • High social competence, team spirit, and sensitivity in the political environment
  • Resilience, composure, and ability to prioritize in intensive work phases (e.g., election campaign periods)
  • Motivation and leadership skills in building and coaching teams
  • Willingness to work occasional evening and weekend appointments



Further information

The position is initially limited to two years, is full-time (39 hours/week) and is based in Berlin. Remuneration is in accordance with TVöD Bund 15.
