Tasks

• Safety assurance of existing and new products regarding working safety, quality, quantity, and deadline compliance under consideration of general business objectives, statutory and labor law provisions, as well as management's target specifications
• Authority and decision-making power in the responsible area of production
• Responsibility for costs incurred by products produced in the area
• Planning and coordination of personnel capacity based on short- and long-term capacity requirements
• Personnel deployment, staffing, and training needs planning, implementation, and monitoring
• Creating salary and wage proposals
• Coperative leadership of employees; consideration of the duty of care for employees; leading employee discussions and evaluating employees; motivating employees to take responsibility; informing superiors and subordinate employees
• Planning and coordination of machine capacity based on short- and long-term requirements
• Monitoring, improving, and developing production processes and procedures under spatial conditions
• Ongoing optimization and rationalization measures planning and implementation
• Maintenance and readiness for use of production facilities
• Optimization of organizational processes and production control; implementing work projects to ensure lean production
• Planning, clarification, and procurement of machines, tools, spare parts, auxiliary materials, and operating supplies
• Participation in the development and introduction of new products into production in collaboration with marketing and development
• Safety assurance and further development of product and process quality and quality control in the production area
• Responsibility for compliance with and implementation of regulations and guidelines regarding accident, labor, and environmental protection in cooperation with the safety expert
• Safety assurance of regular hazard analyses and elimination of potential hazards
• Instruction on and responsibility for safe handling of hazardous substances
• Creation and assurance of application of operating instructions for the responsible area of production
• Collaboration with and information to the works council
• Participation in and contribution to company work groups
• Annual cost planning and cost tracking

Qualification

• Completed engineering degree (e.g. mechanical engineering, production technology, industrial engineering or comparable)
• Multiple years of professional experience in production, ideally in a leading position

Fundamental knowledge in:

• Production and manufacturing processes
• Pre-production preparation, production control, and capacity planning
• Cost accounting, budget planning, and cost tracking
• Quality management and quality assurance

Very good knowledge of:

• Labor law

• Occupational safety, accident prevention, health protection, and environmental protection

• Handling hazardous substances

• Experience in introducing new products into series production

• Safe handling of ERP/PPS systems as well as common office applications
