Behaviour Mentor

The Role: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who may be at risk of exclusion or are already in alternative provision due to challenging behaviour, trauma, or complex SEMH needs. Working closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leaders, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where students can re-engage with learning and develop essential life skills. Key Responsibilities: Build positive, trusted relationships with students; work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to identify and address the underlying causes of challenging behaviour; develop and implement individualised plans to support student progress and well-being; provide emotional support and guidance to students; contribute to the development of whole-school strategies for promoting positive behaviour and reducing exclusions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour, a strong understanding of SEMH needs, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
