Summary: The Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) 1:1 provides intensive behavioral intervention services to students with identified behavioral needs and/or autism spectrum disorders within a school setting. The BIS works under the direct supervision of the Program Director and/or BCBA to implement individualized behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and/or provide direct instruction. Responsibilities: * Provide 1:1 support and behavioral interventions to students in a special education setting. * Implement individualized behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and/or instructional plans as directed by the BCBA or Program Director. * Collect and record data related to student progress. * Assist with classroom management and provide support to the teacher. * Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for students. * Communicate with the BCBA, Program Director, and parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns. * Participate in team meetings and staff training as required. * Adhere to all policies and procedures of the school and ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent required. * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. * Experience working with children with behavioral challenges and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred. * Knowledge of behavioral intervention techniques and principles preferred. * Ability to implement behavioral intervention plans and collect data. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team. * Must be able to pass a background check.
