Civil Engineer for Hydraulic Canal Network Calculation (m/w/d)

Job Description

PolyTALENT is recruiting for a well-established engineering firm in Traunreut a position in the Siedlungswasserwirtschaft with focus on hydraulic canal network calculation and canal network modeling. We are looking for a civil engineer (m/w/d), water engineer (m/w/d) or project engineer Siedlungswasserwirtschaft (m/w/d) who analyzes and develops future-proof drainage systems.

Tasks

• Verification and setup of digital canal network models including plausibility checks for heights, materials, and nominal widths.
• Hydraulic modeling of special structures such as pumps, weirs, overflow tanks, and relief systems.
• Zoning and evaluation of catchment areas, runoff data, and flow parameters for reliable simulation models.
• Accompaniment of measurement campaigns, analysis of flow data, and calibration of hydrodynamic models.
• Last fall and heavy rain calculations to identify hydraulic weaknesses.
• Development of technical solutions for network optimization, dimensioning, and relief of existing systems.
• Synchronization with designers, GIS specialists, and surveyors, as well as presentation of results to customers and committees.

Profile

• Degree in Bauingenieurwesen, Siedlungswasserwirtschaft, Wasserwirtschaft, or a comparable field.
• Practical experience in Kanalnetzberechnung, hydrodynamic simulation, or entwässerungsplanung – ideal for civil engineers (m/w/d), construction engineers (m/w/d), or water engineers (m/w/d).
• Familiarity with the DWA rulebook, relevant DIN standards, and technical standards of urban drainage.
• Experience with BaSYS MIKE is ideal; knowledge of DHI MIKE, HYSTEM-EXTRAN, or comparable hydraulic software is welcome.
• Good understanding of data-driven working, complex drainage systems, and technical interdependencies.
• Structured, self-reliant work style, as well as the ability to communicate results in a way that is addressable and understandable for the target audience.
