Job description
You choose to work in addiction care because you want to support your clients in their striving for recovery and return to their normal, drug-free life. And maybe you've already worked in a similar function and found it rewarding work that gave you a lot of satisfaction and where you could fully express your enthusiasm and passion.
If the above applies to you and you have a degree as a psychologist, please read on.
The assignment giver in Limburg is the specialist in performing detoxification treatments for clients with an addiction problem. During the treatment, the client builds up under medical supervision the use of addictive substances or stops directly.
The detoxification takes place in the form of an inpatient stay. An average admission lasts 14 days. Sometimes there are outliers above. That depends on age, usage pattern, and type of addiction. The clients are transferred after the detox to an institution for outpatient or clinical addiction care for further treatment.
Your role as Psychologist
You will be part of a team consisting of other psychologists, doctors, and nurses. The atmosphere is informal and collegiate. Lines are short, there is little hierarchy, and there is plenty of room for your own responsibility.
You will work in a small-scale, multidisciplinary, and professional team. You will primarily be the therapist and responsible for the treatment of your clients, both individually and in groups. The case manager of your clients is your supervisor.
As therapist to your own group of clients, you guide them during their detox; this includes your tasks:
- You conduct intake interviews and set up a treatment plan with your clients;
- You conduct individual sessions with your clients and their loved ones;
- You monitor the progress of the treatment trajectory and evaluate it with your team and case manager. If necessary, you adjust the treatment plan, of course in consultation with your client;
- You have contact and consult regularly with internal and external involved care providers.
- You conduct group modules for the client group at the clinic;
- You conduct diagnostic research as needed;
- You provide information to groups or potential clients as needed;
- You give CGT treatments to clients with comorbidity and record these;
- You work with Motivational Interviewing to set behavioral changes in motion for your clients.
Requirements
Your enthusiasm and passion are naturally very important, and they assume that you can work independently and commit 100% to your clients, team, and clinic. Furthermore, they ask of you that:
- You have a master's degree in psychology and at least 1 year of experience as a psychologist;
- You preferably have experience with the addiction problem;
- You are flexible in your task package, stress-resistant, and have good social skills;
- You are available for at least 16 hours per week, with one day per week physically present, the remaining hours online.
- It's a plus if you have a LOGO declaration.
The submission of a Statement on Behavior is part of the hiring procedure.
