Job description

About Our Client
Based in beautiful Tauranga CBD, our client is a sizable CA firm with a stellar reputation. They have built a fantastic reputation for looking after their people, high quality client advice with a relaxed coastal lifestyle. The culture here is progressive and people first, offering a welcoming space where fresh ideas are welcomed and your personal growth actually matters.

With a structured team, you will join a well established and friendly practice environment. They strike the perfect balance between interesting, high level advisory work and a down to earth everyday vibe. If you appreciate collaboration, strong local networking and genuine autonomy without rigid corporate pressure, you will fit right in here.

About the Role
  • Guide and mentor four highly experienced staff with workflow, reviewing work, training, coaching, performance management and recruitment
  • Partner directly with an experienced Partner to look after a varied portfolio of clients across medical, horticulture, retail & HNWI
  • Prepare complex compliance for the high end clients
  • Advisory such as budgets, forecasts, cashflows, monthly management reporting and software implementation
  • Build solid, long term working relationships with client founders and business owners as their trusted daily advisor
About You
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a NZ public practice firm
  • CA qualification preferred but not a deal breaker
  • Experienced with leading a team and reviewing work
  • An approachable, easygoing style with a knack for working alongside a more introverted team
  • Confident using Xero and open minded in terms of AI like Claude
What's in it for you?
  • Genuine work life balance: Flexible hours and work from home one day a week
  • Early finish Fridays so you can beat the traffic and start your weekend early in the Bay
  • An easygoing work environment with supportive leadership
  • Grow into business development and networking with no pressure and no BD targets
  • Progression pathway to Associate and Partnership
Why work with Tyler Wren?
  • 10+ years of experience in the Professional Services sector
  • Job opportunities across New Zealand and Australia, with local recruiters in each location
  • Many placements are not available through adverts
  • Support at every stage, from career guidance to job search management including personalised interview prep to help you succeed
