Backend / Full Stack Developer (m/f/d)

We are SOFI AI and we are building an AI platform for a highly regulated market without our customers having to give up confidentiality or data sovereignty. Precisely this combination of strong AI and uncompromising data security makes our work technically demanding and exciting.

We are a small team with short paths, real responsibility, and a product whose impact you can see directly.

Tasks

Together with our existing development team, you will advance the SOFI AI platform. Your focus will be on the backend; depending on your strengths, you will also take on full-stack tasks. What awaits you:

- You will develop and operate our backend services and APIs

- You will build and optimize our AI harnesses, i.e., the orchestration around language models with tool calling, agent workflows, and eval frameworks

- You will refactor existing components and extract more performance

- You will analyze and fix bugs and maintain code quality

- You will connect external data sources and interfaces

- Depending on your profile, you will also work on the frontend and accompany features from the API to the UI

- You will be involved from the idea to production operation

AI-supported development is part of our daily work. You will work with modern AI tools and coding agents to progress faster and more focused, while simultaneously building the AI functions that make up our product.

Qualification

This is what you should bring:

- Several years of experience in backend development, ideally with Python and/or TypeScript

- Proficiency in the design and operation of REST APIs

- Experience with databases and an understanding of testable and maintainable code

- Experience in frontend, e.g., with React, is a plus if you want to take on full-stack tasks

- Interest or initial experience in integrating language models and building agentic systems

- Openness to AI-supported development workflows

- A keen awareness of data protection and data security, as we work with highly sensitive data

- An independent, structured way of working and enjoyment of working in a small team

- Very good German and English language skills
