Backend Engineer (Energy & AI)

einklang is the intelligent energy provider for medium-sized businesses. We lower the energy costs of industrial and commercial customers by combining energy procurement and intelligent battery storage.

Our core is einklang OS: the platform that connects battery storage at industrial sites with the electricity markets. Volatile electricity prices thus become a competitive advantage for our customers, rather than a risk.

Tasks

You will be part of the core team of einklang OS, working alongside product and energy experts. The platform unites two worlds:

1. Energy Management — Forecasting, Optimization, Battery Control

2. Energy Procurement — Electricity Procurement and Electricity Trading

Only the combination allows us to get the most out of the battery and achieve significantly higher savings per site.

Specifically for you:

• You will improve our optimization and trading in rapid iterations and keep operations stable.
• You will take our solution to the next level and make decisions, even under uncertainty.
• You will keep the overall system in view: from the customer site to the market interface.
• You will make operations and savings measurable: monitoring, alerting, reporting.

We are AI-first and we mean it: coding agents, LLM-powered workflows, and automation are part of our daily routine, not an experiment.

We seek speed with depth. The output of an agent is only as good as the person who reviews it.

Qualifications

What you bring

• You want to understand and contribute to the product, not just work on individual tasks.
• You enjoy close collaboration: giving and receiving direct feedback, iterating together rather than perfecting alone.
• Experience in building and operating productive backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, containers, and a cloud environment (e.g., AWS).
• You are experienced with coding agents and critically review their output: speed without loss of control.
• Fluent in German and English.

Advantageous, but not mandatory

• CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Monitoring
• Time series data and forecasting models
