With us, you are in the thick of it: You build the backend that supports this platform – reliably and in compliance with data protection.

For this, we are looking for you – to strengthen our Backend & AI team as a Backend Developer / AI Engineer

Tasks

Your tasks

• You develop and operate the backend services behind our AI assistants, which provide our agents and their knowledge for all client projects
• You build and improve the search that finds the right content for every question, and its preparation for an answer
• You ensure that large amounts of knowledge remain quickly searchable, and take care of the setup, operation, and quality of the search
• You integrate language models (LLMs) and prepare the data they need
• You integrate various AI providers and models, paying attention to data protection and European data storage (GDPR)
• You ensure that answers arrive quickly and reliably – even with many simultaneous requests
• You keep the data of different clients cleanly separated and ensure that access rights are reliably enforced
• You participate in architectural decisions and work closely with the Frontend, Data, and AI teams

Qualification

Your profile

What you bring:

• Several years of experience in backend development with a modern, type-safe programming language (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, C# or similar)
• Confident design and operation of APIs and real-time / streaming interfaces, including concurrent programming and performance optimization
• Understanding of semantic search / AI-supported retrieval and handling large amounts of data
• Experience in the integration of AI / LLM services
• Confident use of container technologies, Linux, versioning, and automated deployments (CI / CD)
• Solid database knowledge (relational and / or for search / vector data)
• Awareness of data protection, security, and tenant separation
• Independent, structured way of working and enjoyment of teamwork
• Very good German language skills

Nice to have (but not a must):

• Experience in the operation of AI / model infrastructure (serving, scaling, resource and cost optimization)
• Knowledge in semantic search, ranking methods, and data preparation for AI
• Experience with the operation of own computing infrastructure (e.g., GPU-supported)
• Understanding of European cloud and data protection requirements
• Experience with multi-tenant architectures and access / rights concepts

What you don't have to do:

• No frontend development and no pixel-perfect tuning of UIs
• No classic website / CMS building
