(Senior) Backend Engineer – Platform Transformation OT360 (m/f/d)

This is how the vision of INspares can be summarized. To make this vision a reality, we are looking for a backend developer (m/f/d) who can translate the complexity of this task into excellent software for our customers.

We develop software for spare parts management for manufacturing companies. Our foundation is OT360 – a platform for all stakeholders in industrial automation: operators, component manufacturers, machine builders, and service providers. As OT360 is growing rapidly, the platform is in the midst of a major transformation. Become part of our journey in the heart of Erkelenz with immediate effect and actively shape digital maintenance!

Tasks

Your Role & Responsibilities

You will actively drive our platform transformation forward – from architecture to production code. You are not just an implementer, but you will shape the path from the portal monolith to a cleanly cut, DDD-based platform:

• Architecture Transformation: Identify and extract Bounded Contexts from the existing portal and rebuild them as independent gRPC APIs (Clean Architecture: Presentation → Application → Domain ← Infrastructure).
• Domain-Driven Design: Implement new and existing domains according to the DDD model (Aggregates, Domain Events, Ubiquitous Language).
• API Design: Design Proto/gRPC interfaces and coordinate them between Bounded Contexts (including Shared-Kernel types, versioning via buf).
• Platform Infrastructure: Co-develop shared infrastructure and help shape architectural decisions for the Context Map (Upstream/Downstream, Anti-Corruption Layer, Tenant/Authorization Isolation).
• Teamwork: Work closely with the portal/frontend team to gradually roll out migrations without functional loss.
• Quality Focus: Ensure code quality and test coverage for new services from the outset.

Qualifications

What You Bring With You

• Tech Stack: Several years of experience in backend development with .NET / C# and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL). Supabase knowledge is a plus.
• Architecture Mindset: Practical experience with Clean Architecture and/or Domain-Driven Design (DDD) – or a strong interest in deepening your knowledge in these areas.
• Interfaces & Tools: Experience with gRPC / Protobuf or comparable API technologies (REST). Knowledge of the buf tool is an advantage.
• Infrastructure: Understanding of microservice/bounded context architectures and the challenges of a monolith-to-services migration, as well as experience with Docker and CI/CD (GitLab).
• Work Style: Structured, self-responsible way of working. You are looking for genuine design freedom in architectural matters and not just a programming role.
• Languages: Fluent German and English skills.
