As part of the material pre-development for new product generations, Kautex continuously investigates new application possibilities for various fiber-reinforced plastics (composites) and multi-material compounds regarding their potential for structural and functional components in Pentatonic® systems.

Objective & Content of the Thesis:

• Identification, characterization, and evaluation of novel materials and material combinations (focus: fiber-reinforced plastic semi-finished products with integrated functional properties)
• Development and design of suitable manufacturing processes as well as production of test specimens and components
• Performance of application-oriented mechanical and thermal tests
• Evaluation of sustainability and recycling potentials
  
  

What you need to apply successfully:

• Enrolled in a degree program with a specialization in plastics engineering, lightweight construction, materials science, or equivalent
• Interest in electromobility, plastics engineering, and innovative materials
• Knowledge of composite materials and fiber composite technology is an advantage
• Analytical skills and the ability to work independently
• Very good German and English language skills
