Job description

Awards & Events Co-ordinator (B2B) – Remote (South Africa)

Location: Remote (South Africa)
Contract: Freelance, full-time
Salary: R18,000 per month
Start Date: January 2026
Working Hours: Monday–Friday (flexibility required to support UK, Europe, US & MENA projects)

Newton Media is a fast-growing international B2B media and events business. Following a recent acquisition, we are expanding our UK-based awards and events portfolio and are looking for a highly organised Events Co-ordinator to support our growing programme of prestigious industry events and awards.

You’ll work closely with our Awards Team and Director of Events, supporting multiple event and awards projects across insurance and legal services sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to international B2B events, while working fully remotely from South Africa.

This is a coordination and stakeholder-facing role, ideal for someone who is highly organised, confident communicating with senior executives, and comfortable managing data, deadlines and multiple projects at once.

Your core responsibility will be driving award nominations and supporting judges and stakeholders throughout the awards process; from outreach and tracking progress to scheduling meetings and updating award websites.

Please note:
This is not a sales role and not an on-site events or logistics role.

If you’re highly organised, confident dealing with senior professionals, and excited by the idea of supporting international awards projects from home - we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

Drive award nominations by contacting warm leads and past participants (20–40 calls per week) to:

  • Confirm receipt of award information
  • Encourage entries
  • Remind stakeholders of deadlines
  • Provide additional information where required

Track and report on award progress, including:

  • Number of nominations per category
  • Judge confirmations and availability
  • Flagging categories requiring additional nominations or judges

Manage nominations and judging progress using our awards platform (Evessio – training provided)

Liaise with judges and speakers (approx. 20 judges per project), including:

  • Collecting bios and headshots
  • Managing availability
  • Maintaining regular professional communication

Arrange and manage judges’ meetings:

  • Diary management
  • Sending meeting invites and documentation
  • Occasionally hosting virtual meetings and taking notes

Update awards websites with bios, logos and relevant content

Ensure nominations are complete and accurate, chasing missing information where needed

Support the wider awards/events team with general administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a role requiring strong organisation, administration and stakeholder communication
  • Confident and professional telephone manner — comfortable making warm outbound calls
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Confident using Excel / Google Sheets to manage large datasets (300+ lines)
  • Comfortable using LinkedIn to cross-reference and verify information
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills — experience dealing with senior executives
  • Ability to learn and work confidently with technical systems (training provided)

Desirable (but not essential)

  • B2B events or awards experience
  • Experience in conference production, marketing, sales support or pre-sales
  • Diary management experience (especially with senior stakeholders)
  • Familiarity with Evessio or similar event/awards platforms
  • Basic HTML or website content updating experience

Education

  • Required: Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (NQF Level 4)
  • Preferred: Degree or equivalent qualification

Benefits

What We Offer

  • 100% remote working from South Africa
  • Flexible working hours to support international projects
  • Exposure to high-profile UK and international B2B awards
  • A supportive, collaborative team in a growing business
  • All business calling costs covered by Newton Media
  • Long-term, contract role with development opportunities
