Azure SRE Lead: Scale, Reliability & Automation

A leading financial technology firm is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineering Lead to manage their SRE team in Cape Town. This role involves overseeing Azure-based infrastructure, ensuring its reliability and security, and driving automation efforts. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of experience in a cloud infrastructure role, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity. A strong background in Azure services and tools is essential for success in this position. Job responsibilities will include: • Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of Azure-based infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize automation opportunities. • Developing and implementing automation scripts using languages such as PowerShell or Python. • Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards for cloud infrastructure. • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members. • Staying up-to-date with the latest Azure services, tools, and best practices. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. • At least 5 years of experience in a cloud infrastructure role. • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership capacity. • Strong background in Azure services and tools, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Security Center. • Experience with automation scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python. • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
