AWS Technology Leader
Job description
EPAM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Technology Leader to join our growing team in West and Central Asia.
You'll be a key player in architecting innovative, scalable, and secure cloud solutions for our clients while also leading and mentoring a team of talented engineers. This is a senior, hands-on, client-facing role offering significant opportunities to shape EPAM's cloud business.
This position offers remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Georgia, whether it's your home, well-equipped offices in Tbilisi and Batumi or a coworking space in Kutaisi.

Responsibilities
- Design and deliver AWS solutions tailored to client requirements, including cloud migrations, greenfield deployments, hybrid cloud setups, and AI/ML initiatives, ensuring adherence to the AWS Well-Architected Framework, FinOps principles, and industry best practices
- Direct and oversee AWS projects, handling stakeholders, KPIs, and mitigating risks effectively
- Manage and grow a high-performing team of engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability, while driving adoption of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and container orchestration services such as EKS, ECS
- Engage in pre-sales activities like responding to RFPs and delivering client presentations as a trusted technical advisor
- Evaluate and integrate new AWS technologies (AI, serverless, sustainability features) to spearhead R&D initiatives, crafting innovative solutions and enhancing team capabilities
Requirements
- 8+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years in leadership roles
- Expertise in crafting AWS solutions, including IaaS (Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage), PaaS (Lambda, Beanstalk, EKS, ECS, RDS), and serverless technologies
- Proficiency in DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows (AWS CodePipeline, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins), along with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)
- A background in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), with experience in EKS, ECS, and skills in scripting and automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
- Knowledge of AWS security protocols and tools such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, IAM, WAF, and Shield
- Competency in deploying and managing AI-powered solutions
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic) and cloud cost optimization techniques
- Leadership skills to mentor and develop team talent while motivating and guiding your team effectively
- Understanding of emerging cloud engineering technologies and a commitment to maintaining cutting-edge expertise
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities with a minimum B2+ proficiency in English
Nice to have
- Background in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) alongside an understanding of ITIL fundamentals
- Prior experience in roles such as Architect, Consultant, or Delivery Manager, showcasing capabilities in client engagement and delivering value
- Qualifications in vendor certifications such as AWS Certified: Solution Architect Professional or DevOps Architect Professional
