We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Business Technology team in UOB Asset Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining large-scale data engineering solutions that support business operations and drive growth. This is a critical role that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: * Design, develop, test and maintain large-scale data engineering solutions using big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, and NoSQL databases like Cassandra, MongoDB, or Couchbase; * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and design data engineering solutions that meet those needs; * Develop and maintain data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes using tools like Apache Beam, Apache NiFi, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory; * Work closely with data scientists and analysts to develop and deploy machine learning models and predictive analytics applications; * Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing data governance policies and procedures; * Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in big data engineering and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred; * At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, and NoSQL databases; * Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, Scala, or C++; * Experience with cloud-based platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud; * Knowledge of data governance policies and procedures; * Excellent communication and collaboration skills; * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and tasks; * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
