Automotive Technician/Mechanic

Duties and responsibilities:
- Discuss problems with vehicle operators to discover faults.
- Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles in compliance with manufacturer’s guidelines and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, tune-ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tyres.
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components such as transmissions, suspensions, steering, brakes etc. to diagnose issues accurately.
- Repair or replace broken, worn, or dysfunctional parts such as brake pads, wheel bearings etc. and test and reassemble components.
- Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition, and electronic fuel injection.
- Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use.
- Re-lines and adjusts brakes and perform wheel alignments.
- Dismantles engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, or other components and checks parts.
- Test and re-adjust to ensure repairs and maintenance are effective using testing equipment or computers before handing over to the Client.
- Dealing with customers on a day-to-day basis
- Performing duties in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
- Keep logs on work and issues and ensure vehicles are in roadworthy order.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
- Explain to clients their automotive problems and the repairs done on their vehicles.
Qualification and experiences
- Minimum Certificate III qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology is required.
- At least one years of experience in a similar role is required.
- Enthusiastic and motivated individual.
- Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.
- Adherence to OH&S Regulations.
