Automation & AI Developer (m/f/d)

Tasks

Your tasks

• Develop, test, and operate n8n workflows in production – from simple automations to complex, multi-stage AI agents
• LLM Integration: Connect and control language models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, etc.) including prompt engineering and evaluation
• Data Pipelines (ETL/ELT): Extract, transform, and provide data from business systems (ERP, CRM, databases) into workflows
• Build ML Pipelines: Data preparation, model training, finetuning, evaluation
• API Connections: Integrate REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party systems
• Backend Support in Python and/or JavaScript/Node.js for Custom Code Nodes and data processing
• Database Design: Build and maintain relational structures for workflow data
• Deployment & Operation on Linux servers (Docker, basic server administration)
• Complete documentation of all flows and handover to customers or internal teams
• Close exchange with technical management and project management

Qualifications

What you bring

Mandatory (without these points, you are unfortunately not a good fit for this position):

• n8n: Demonstrable practical experience (own projects, freelance, or employment) – you know triggers, expressions, error handling, and custom code nodes
• Data Science Fundamentals: Understanding of data structures, ETL processes, SQL, and data modeling – you can prepare and transform data cleanly
• LLMs in Practice: You have used language models in production and understand prompting, context management, and evaluation
• Python and/or JavaScript/Node.js: Solid backend knowledge for data processing and API integration
• German: Very good knowledge in spoken and written German (B2 minimum, C1 preferred) – you communicate with German customers and teams

Advantageous:

• Experience with data warehousing and data integration from heterogeneous systems
• Knowledge in RAG architectures (Vector Databases: Qdrant, Weaviate, or similar)
• Experience with ERP integrations (SAP, Lexware, BMD, DATEV, etc.)
• Deployment on Linux / Docker
• Experience with MLOps or model evaluation
