Job description

You are responsible for PLC development, HMI integration, and commissioning of industrial automation and robotics systems. In doing so, you ensure that the control logic, interfaces, and system behavior function reliably in real customer environments.

To implement our projects smoothly, we work closely together as a team with our customers and BÄR Automation GmbH near Heilbronn. For this, you are prepared to travel occasionally within Germany and abroad for approximately 60% of your time.

Your Responsibilities

  • PLC Development: You develop and extend PLC programs for industrial automation systems and robotics-related applications.
  • HMI Integration: You implement and maintain HMI and control-related interfaces for operation, diagnostics, and process guidance.
  • Commissioning: You accompany on-site commissioning and ensure functional handover into the customer environment.
  • Troubleshooting: You analyze and resolve faults in control logic, field communication, and system behavior.
  • Integration: You work closely with mechanics, electrical engineering, project engineering, and deployment to bring overall systems into stable operation.
  • Documentation: You create and maintain technical documentation on control logic, parameterization, and commissioning status.

Essential Skills

  • Technical Background: Degree or comparable qualification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation technology, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • PLC Experience: Several years of experience in the development and customization of PLC programs in industrial automation environments.
  • Commissioning: Sound practical experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing automation systems in the field.
  • Control Technology: Working understanding of HMI, fieldbus, and control-related integration tasks.
  • Industrial Practice: Experience with real production or plant environments and their technical constraints.
  • Work Method: Independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach with a strong hands-on orientation.
  • Languages: Very good German skills and good English skills for technical coordination.

  • Robotics Relevance: Experience with robotics-based automation systems and their integration into control environments.
  • Safety Proximity: Exposure to safety logic, safety concepts, or CE-related topics.
  • Networks: Experience with industrial communication interfaces and fieldbus or network topics.
  • Field Practice: Familiarity with customer projects, travel components, and direct on-site work.
