Automation Engineer

The Automation Engineer plays an important role in designing, programming, and optimizing control systems for industrial applications. Close collaboration with colleagues is essential to realize efficient and innovative automation solutions.

You will develop and maintain PLC and HMI programs, ensuring that the software seamlessly integrates with machines and production lines.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Analyzing technical specifications and preparing automation projects. You ensure that all information and materials are available for execution.
• Developing, programming, and testing PLC software (including Siemens S7 and TIA Portal)
• Programming HMI systems
• Commissioning and testing control systems, both in the workshop and on-site.
• Troubleshooting and performing technical modifications.
• Working with communication protocols such as Profinet, Profibus, and Modbus, etc.
• Following up on projects and coordinating with clients and internal teams.
• Ensuring proper alignment between software, hardware, and mechanical components.
• Overseeing compliance with safety and quality standards and taking initiative in process improvement.
• After completion, evaluating projects such as the functioning of the automation, potential areas for improvement, etc.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Automation, Electromechanics, or relevant accumulated experience.
• Takes responsibility and values quality, safety, and the environment.
• Strong affinity with PLCs and electrical engineering.
• Can quickly process and analyze technical information.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics.
• Experience with machine safety is a plus.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
• Communicative and enjoys working with colleagues.
• Is customer-oriented, solution-oriented, and takes initiative.
• Good knowledge of Dutch and English.
