Automation Engineer - Beckhoff TwinCAT

ekvip automation GmbH is a software house for the machine and plant engineering industry with its headquarters in Leipzig and subsidiaries in the USA and Sarajevo. We develop TwinCAT-3-frameworks (including our open-source framework cinnamon), C#-applications for the machine and line level, and services around commissioning. Tasks

• You design and develop reusable framework libraries for use in various customer projects
• You improve and maintain our existing frameworks to ensure stability, performance, and scalability
• You document architectural decisions and establish development standards for effective framework usage
• You improve code quality and maintainability by applying modern software engineering principles and tools
• You optimize workflows and develop best practices in automation technology further
• You mentor and support less experienced team members and foster a culture of cooperation and continuous learning

Qualification

• SUCCESSFUL completion of a degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, or a comparable technical field
• At least 5 years of practical experience in programming special machines using SPS
• Fundamental knowledge of IEC 61131-3 (Structured Text/SFC) with TwinCAT 3 and/or CODESYS 3
• Experience in developing reusable libraries with TwinCAT 3 or CODESYS 3
• Familiarity with library documentation, preferably with reStructuredText
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming (e.g. Java, Kotlin, C#)
• Fundamental knowledge of software architecture principles and modern software development techniques
• Experience with NC applications and commissioning of drives (e.g. Bosch Rexroth, Beckhoff)
• Fundamental knowledge of VisiWin 7 and/or Beckhoff HMI
• High willingness to travel internationally
• Secure English, German is an advantage
