Apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems (m/f/d)

The Bundeswehr guarantees the security, sovereignty, and foreign policy capability of the Federal Republic of Germany. Furthermore, it protects its citizens, supports allies, and provides official assistance in cases of natural disasters and severe accidents domestically. In doing so, it is subject to the decisions of the Bundestag, the German Basic Law, and international law.

Electronics technicians for devices and systems (m/f/d) control and monitor processes in the manufacturing and maintenance of information and communication technology devices. They commission and maintain systems and devices. They create manufacturing documentation, set up manufacturing and testing machines, install and configure programs or operating systems, and participate in quality assurance. They also advise customers and instruct users on how to operate the devices.

YOUR TASKS

• You will learn about the Bundeswehr's information and communication technology devices and how to install and configure them.
• You will be trained to plan and organize production and maintenance.
• You will learn to isolate sources of error and rectify defects. You will use testing and measuring equipment and diagnostic software for this purpose.
• You will be qualified theoretically and practically to set up manufacturing and testing machines and to participate in quality assurance.

You have at least a university entrance qualification for applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife) or have already completed vocational training or possess vocational preliminary training that can be credited towards the training period according to § 7 of the Vocational Training Act (Berufsbildungsgesetz), as employment in the first year of vocational training, which began on 09/01/2026, is intended. Special emphasis is placed on performance in the core subjects of German and Mathematics, as well as in science subjects (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) or the first foreign language, depending on the vocational training occupation.

In addition to interest and aptitude for the chosen profession, you should bring a willingness to learn, commitment, and concentration skills. Team spirit, reliability, and a sense of responsibility are also prerequisites for trustworthy cooperation.

• Your monthly training allowance will increase over the entire three-and-a-half-year training period. In the first year, it is approximately €1,368.26 and will rise to approximately €1,527.59 gross in the fourth year.
• Vocational training is generally also possible on a part-time basis.
• Following the vocational training, provided performance is satisfactory, employment, civil servant, or soldier status is sought.
