Trainees for IT Specialist System Integration (m/f/d)

The training program is divided into phases at the vocational college and practical phases with us in the IT Services department.

The alternation between theory and practice allows you to directly apply your knowledge in daily professional life.

As an IT specialist for system integration, you are responsible for the planning, installation, and maintenance of IT systems in companies. You ensure that the IT infrastructure runs smoothly and that employees can work efficiently. You will carry out your tasks as part of a team in the IT Services and Media Design department and, during the training, you will also regularly gain insights into the IT of our municipal swimming pool operation "Atlantis," where you will also receive comprehensive training and support.

As an IT specialist, you have many tasks, for example, you analyze the requirements of colleagues and specialist departments and advise them on the selection of suitable IT systems. You consider technical, economic, and organizational aspects. You create concepts for the implementation of new IT systems and plan their integration into existing infrastructures. You also consider security aspects and data protection regulations. Of course, you also install and configure hardware and software components, such as servers, networks, operating systems, and applications. You work closely with other specialist departments and external service providers. You monitor IT systems and identify errors that occur, as well as analyze their causes and resolve them as quickly as possible to minimize downtime. Additionally, you perform regular maintenance work to maintain system performance. You continuously optimize systems to ensure efficient use. Documenting your work steps is also part of your tasks. With us, you will train employees in the use of IT systems and be available to them for questions and problems.

Throughout your entire training, you will be comprehensively supported by your trainers, our Youth and Trainee Representation (JAV), and our Head of Training, Mr. Schnigge – in total, we have over 50 trainees in various apprenticeship professions with us.

During the introductory days at the beginning of September, you will get to know not only our city administration but also our JAV and the trainees from higher years. You will also meet the mayor and the staff council, for example. We have regular exchanges as part of the training – be it at JAV events such as a joint pizza dinner, the annual trainee barbecue during the introductory event, or our Trainee Excursion Day!

During the training, you will receive a monthly salary according to TVAöD in the following amount:

in the first year of training €1,368.26

in the second year of training €1,418.20

in the third year of training €1,464.02

The weekly working hours are 39 hours, and your annual leave amounts to 30 days per year. You can organize your working hours flexibly with our flexitime. Throughout your entire training period, you will be equipped with a laptop, which you are naturally allowed to use during your school time.
