Tasks

• This profession revolves entirely around the development of software that should fulfill customer-specified functions, for example.
• To do this, you will plan, conceptualize, and program a wide variety of programs and applications, and develop application-oriented and user-friendly interfaces. Various programming languages and special development tools are used.
• Training users and fixing errors with the help of expert or diagnostic systems are also part of this varied job description.
• The training lasts three years and takes place dual, i.e., at the training company and in vocational school.
• The final examination is taken before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Qualifications

• You should be enthusiastic about IT topics and modern technology and have a good Realschulabschluss (intermediate school leaving certificate), a Fachoberschule (technical college) diploma, or Abitur (university entrance qualification).
• Helpful strengths: Enjoy solving tricky tasks, analytical thinking skills, and interest in the subjects of math, technology, IT, and physics.
