Associate, Title Selection – Active Actions (Global Healthcare Sector)

We are recruiting an associate to join our title selection team within the Active Actions department. The selected candidate will be part of a specialized team that focuses on global healthcare sector companies (excluding biopharmaceuticals). Reporting to the General Manager, Active Actions, the associate is responsible for conducting in-depth and targeted research by sector, primarily focusing on investment ideas and existing portfolio titles. The position is based in Toronto.

The Active Actions department ('AE') invests in large-cap public stocks and pre-IPO companies in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The strategy relies on fundamental and ascending research to create a concentrated, market-neutral portfolio composed of long and short positions with high conviction. The Title Selection team adopts a global structure focused on generating differentiated ideas through sectoral expertise.

Main Responsibilities :

• Work directly with the healthcare sector investment professionals from the Global Healthcare team to evaluate long-term and short-term investment opportunities in public companies and pre-IPOs, across various sub-sectors of global healthcare.
• Under supervision, conduct investment research based on sectoral expertise and fundamental analysis of the global healthcare sector.
• Participate in meetings with management teams, sector experts, and attend industry conferences and broker events; travel may be required.
• Benchmark and maintain financial models for companies and perform valuation analyses (DCF, comparables); apply statistical methods to support investment decisions.
• Under supervision, prepare investment analysis and recommendations in collaboration with the team, including sector insights, investment notes, and due diligence analyses.
• Research, analyze, and monitor macroeconomic sector trends as well as fundamental performance of portfolio positions.
• Incorporate progressively alternative data insights to enrich research.
