Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Orthopaedic/Neurosurgery | Melbourne

A unique opportunity is available for a highly experienced Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to step into a leadership role of an Associate Nurse Unit Manager and work across a 30-bed Orthopaedic, Neurosurgical and Medical Ward at a private hospital in Melbourne. This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time schedules available.
ABOUT THE ROLE As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Facilitating a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement;
• Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high-quality patient outcomes;
• Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
• Being accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources;
• Coordinating and driving clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives;
• Undertaking direct patient care, as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current registration with AHPRA;
• Working with Children check;
• 3+ years orthopaedic, neurology or surgical experience;
• Must be able to work rotational night shifts;
• Sound clinical knowledge;
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
• Positive role modelling behaviours;
• Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation;
• Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment;
• High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases.

REMUNERATION Salaries range between $52.93- $54.71 per hour.
ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 334 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, a 14-bed ICU, a 17-bed CCU, Medical, and a full range of Cardiac Services including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and Victoria's only Single-Site Robotic Surgery Program. The hospital has 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more. All supported by a newly expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit.
