Associate Finance Business Partner - Campus Environment

Join the University of Auckland as an Associate Finance Business Partner and help deliver financial insight and decision support to our Campus Environment division, a portfolio that includes the built estate, student accommodation, commercial services, and sports and recreation.
You’ll partner with operational teams to provide high-quality reporting, analysis and advice that drives performance and supports strategic goals. This role combines technical expertise with collaboration, helping shape budgets, forecasts and long-term plans while improving financial literacy across the organisation.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Deliver accurate financial insights, reports and analysis to support strategic goals and KPIs.
- Monitor performance against KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Act as a key contact for business intelligence reporting and planning tools (e.g., Adaptive Planning, Power BI).
- Collaborate on operational and strategic initiatives across business units and the University.
- Build strong relationships and understanding of key business drivers.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes.
- Improve financial literacy and enable informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with University finance policies and contribute to continuous improvement.
This is a Permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) with a salary range of $93,000–$102,000 per annum, depending on experience.

You’re a finance professional ready to step into a business partnering role. With a strong foundation in accounting and analysis, you combine technical expertise with clear communication and a collaborative approach.
You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting or Business Management (CAANZ/CPA preferred).
- Experience in financial and management accounting, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP and BI tools.
- The ability to manage priorities, build strong relationships and influence decisions in a complex environment.
