Assistant Vice President, Threat Detection and Response Specialist

Job Summary The Assistant Vice President, Threat Detection and Response Specialist will be responsible for leading and executing activities related to the identification, analysis, containment, and eradication of threats to MUFG’s information assets. This role involves the proactive monitoring of security systems, analysis of security events, and coordination of incident response activities. The specialist will work closely with other security teams, IT, and business units to ensure a secure and resilient environment. This role contributes to the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls and processes to protect MUFG’s information assets. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and participate in the investigation of security incidents, including malware infections, data breaches, and other security events. * Monitor security systems and tools, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, to identify potential threats. * Analyze security alerts and events to determine the scope and impact of incidents. * Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures to effectively contain and eradicate threats. * Coordinate and communicate with other security teams, IT, and business units to ensure timely and effective incident response. * Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the organization's security posture. * Research and analyze emerging threats and vulnerabilities to develop proactive security measures. * Provide recommendations for improving the organization's security posture and implementing security best practices. * Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies. * Document incident response activities and create reports for management. * Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. * Minimum of 8 years of experience in information security, with a focus on threat detection and incident response. * Strong understanding of security concepts, including network security, endpoint security, cloud security, and application security. * Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, etc.) and EDR solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, etc.). * Experience with incident response methodologies and frameworks (e.g., NIST, SANS). * Knowledge of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing techniques. * Familiarity with regulatory requirements and security standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001). * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GCIH) are a plus.
