Assistant Resident Engineer

Our client is currently seeking a dynamic and skilled Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) specializing in Roads to join their team in the Southern Cape area. The successful candidate will work closely with the Resident Engineer to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of road construction projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and clients' requirements. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with at least 2-3 years of experience in road construction or a similar field. A valid driver's license is essential for this position. Additional responsibilities include: • Conducting site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards; • Coordinating with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services; • Preparing and submitting reports, including progress reports, technical reports, and other documentation as required; • Collaborating with the Resident Engineer to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets; • Providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians; • Staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in road construction.
